Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis
Basseterre was founded by the French in 1627 and is one of the oldest towns in the Eastern Caribbean. The compact center features Georgian stone buildings around the Circus, a roundabout modeled on Piccadilly Circus. Brimstone Hill Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the island, is one of the best-preserved colonial fortifications in the Americas.
